Freelance Writer, Author,
Narrative Healing Coach,
Reiki Master & Reflexologist
Someone told me once I was quite prolific. I like the way that sounds, the word prolific has motion. It feels fluid, like water passing through your hands, but for me it is words from my mind, through my hands to the page. I guess you could say a writer who has enjoyed creating memoir, fiction and nonfictions novels, blogs, short stories, poetry, comedy, children's stories, plays, visual art and collage with mixed media and even the chance to write handwritten notes is pretty well productive.
The material I have produced has accumulated for quite some time and I joke that I have created projects like an ostrich lays eggs and has sit on them to keep them warm. Well it is now time for my babies to start flapping their wings! Shortly I will be publishing my first book based on a blog that I kept for a year after my late wife passed away. You would think it would be a really heartbreak of a read except for the fact that I wrote it with a Superhero alter ego of myself named Captain Grief. We laughed and cried our way through a gnarly year of grief and came out much better for the experience.
For another look at my work check out my blog Brave.Creative.Me here or find me freelancing at Pink Play Magazine where I also write their Queer Parenting Blog named ofter my almost six year old son The Ginger Menace.
I have a private practice at the Inner Arts Collective in Toronto and have been working in this city since 2006. I gained experience working with clients dealing with issues such as bereavement, detoxification, sleeping disorders, chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, reproductive issues, circulatory issues, eating disorders and terminal conditions.
I love peoples stories and I believe in the healing power of giving yourself permission to share them, as you are the only one that can. Being a holistic practitioner has just increased my desire to use artistic expression as an instrumental healing tool in my life. I also love to facilitate other peoples healing journeys whether it be with reflexology, reiki, aromatherapy or Narrative Healing, a creative writing workshop series using healing tools and memoir in a combined effort to foster expression in a safe, queer positive, pro-feminist, supportive environment.
